Galaxy Labs, LLC is the first Independent / Social Equity Craft Grower to go live in Illinois. Their husband-and-wife owners are from Illinois and grew up in impacted areas. Their entire Galaxy crew is committed to community, economic development, and leading by example.
In collaboration with key Galaxy stakeholders, we imbued the brand with deeper meaning; a conceptual launch pad for an aspiring lifestyle brand. More importantly, we landed on a set of specific cross-references between space travel and craft cannabis that broaden the brand's mythology and inform its visual identity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Before the first seeds were planted, we captured the brand essence on one page. Useful for press, investors, and descriptive copy on site and social.
We researched connoisseur cultures in different categories (think: sneaker heads, wine aficionados), and what motivates "craft" cannabis shoppers — and their budtenders. To be as "stoner proof" as possible, we needed clear articulations of brand benefits that resonate with customers and connoisseurs alike.
We captured the founders' sense of community as well as their sense of adventure in one key phrase.
The emotional benefit of a cannabis brand isn't about "getting high". For this brand, it's a ritual of exploration and self-discovery.
It isn't enough for craft cannabis to look good and get you high. Connoisseurs want to know about the care and appreciation that go into each cultivation.
